#JohnMastodon really isn't getting the level of appreciation that he deserves, if we're all being honest with ourselves.
The Teenager: What are you laughing at?
Me: Oh. Nothing. I've just put a beard on a standing stone.
*runs over*
*sighs*
*pause*
The Teenager: It needs googly eyes.
Anyhoo... back in a mo...
Well. They were NOT wrong.
I give you two standing stones on Arran, part of the Machrie Moor stone circles, in fine festive garb.
You are very welcome.

@matsimpsk Haha! Are you accepting registrations? You could end up with your local feed being devoted to them.
@matsimpsk Yeah, we're still closed too. Slightly concerned about resources it could use if we opened it up.
@eclectech I'm not as brave as you guys - mine is fully managed on masto.host, so I'm sure it could take a bit of strain, but if I start adding more and more people, I'd obviously need to upgrade the account.
The main reason for getting my own server was partly just to see how it works, but also so I can post gifs and other stuff without feeling guilty for piggy-backing.
@matsimpsk Very wise. No way I would have taken it on by myself.
I definitely feel better posting pics & gifs knowing it's my own server though, although there might be some benefits to an admin at the end of a digital connection rather than sitting the other side of the room, where you can see their expression when they're reviewing resource use.
Today is the day I reveal to mastodon that I have a Great Dane who sits like this.
Thought it needed to be known
