Had an interesting online exchange with an event organizer who asked me to repost their AI-generated car event flyer. I declined, and they asked why because AI is the latest and greatest thing. They were really polite and curious about it, so I linked my site whynoai.info and thanked them for being curious.

A day later they came back to me and said that they now understood why I took my position and that they respected it.

I like to think that I helped shine some light on this topic for one more person.

EDIT: I added a “It’s misinformation” section. Hat tip to @xanna

@Viss it's known as the McLeather round here.
still going to say it's my favourite McDonalds foodstuff, but that is with my understanding maccies produce food with "mechanically reclaimed meat" not choice cuts or prime meat

I *do* know what "mechanically reclaimed" means, but I like to think they mean roadkill instead :)

Kinda fucked up that due to new enforcement policies, all British porn is now required to have an interlude where everyone pauses in the raunchy acts to respectfully remember Princess Diana and Captain Tom.

@passenger the handy warning to wipe your hands before they play "God Save the King" at the end does make up for it a bit though

@nolan <considers this>
soooo... in these days of pedal-scarcity we're okay to "borrow" bikes too? ;)

@vx_underground "sorry, I'm a media personality now, I can't just ungoop on youtube for money.

you got any of that juicy 'exposure' I keep hearing about though?"
;)

@nolan tbf my own stupidity, tiredness or overconfidence sometimes violates my trust as well, but that at least only screws myself over I guess

i never used proton. not because i had secret knowledge about them or saw some hint of what was to come, but because once i realized that the privacy of my communications was important to me, the only answer was to self host.

i understand this isnt possible for everyone. we all must do our own risk assessment, etc. etc.

but somebody else's computer will always be somebody elses computer. and sometimes that means shitheads will violate your trust.

“When #PatrickStewart was growing up in the 1940s, he witnessed how, after his father beat his mother, home doctors and ambulance workers would tell her: “You must have done something to provoke him.”

Stewart knew the violence was never warranted, a conviction that became the spark for a lasting commitment to campaigning for greater understanding of domestic abuse.”

👆

Commanding stage presence, great actor; For me though, it’s the leadership shown on #DV that elevates Patrick beyond other actors and celebs. Using visibility and position of power. 🖖

Hello, Little People Living Inside Of My Computer,

I have made my second ever YouTube video briefly discussing the Chinese government trying to compromise companies in Malaysia.

It was fun.

The biggest reason to distrust billionaires is how they spend their time. Any reasonable person with that cash would be gone from public life so fast you’d need scientific notation to measure their velocity, not sticking around shitposting on incel social networks and fellating creepy politicians.

The Fediverse tonight feels like a collective wake for Patrick Stewart. Thank you, my fellow nerds.

@gsuberland "if you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life" but in obsessed chemical/electrical engineering?
this is Initial though, so those are probabluly hooked up to a 2-way price-controlled output that either flushes or squirts "flower" smell depending on the current cost overhead of sprays vs cleaning fluid...

Gonna make a bot that picks a random LinkedIn post every day and replies "Must be a skill issue".

Had a guy round to fix a broken window. Apologised as I moved a pile of Lego out of the way so he could get at it.
"Don't worry about it, I have kids too."
Ha ha, yes of course, children. Obviously that's who left these toys lying about the place.
