@littlefox @jonty I remember finding out which side you needed to slap the magnet on to move blue around on some sony monitor, much fun :)
@foone Tasker and/or Join on Android, depending on what you want to do with each end.
I rarely tell people to throw their devices into the sea, but you should throw your Amazon Echo into the sea.
@evacide I'm waaaay too paranoid (and partially brummy-accented) to have a voice-controlled device around the house.
still feels odd being proven right though :(

I spent a good chunk of my weekend helping people running tiny, low risk, online services complete paperwork about the UK’s Online Safety Act, for zero discernible benefit.
So it is a bit galling that the main headline on the BBC this morning is about the government wanting to “slash red tape”.
I have spent one heck of a lot of time on the OSA, trying to help others with its burden, and it just seems so utterly unnecessary.
@gsuberland my current home-office setup is a desk top between stacked storage boxes, so I've elevated it far enough to need to add a longer leaded mains block :D
@gsuberland my knees have suffered each and every time I've tested this setup out, even with a slouchy-low-set rollychair.
no ideal single setup method for me yet, so I keep having to maintain* a clear patch of deskspace for a keyboad, which seems a waste of a flat surface.
*for a given value of 'maintain' and 'clear' - can recommend shared keyboard/mouse software like Synergy too
The US Department of State, acting on orders of very questionable legality, destroyed my new, already printed, waiting to be picked up passport for only one reason: it listed my sex as "X".
Please help replace my passport.
Fill this out. Monday is the last day.

it's a pretty random process and the only way to speed it up is to get people more access to papers and more time/energy to spend on trying things
