well it may have resulted in me staying up way too late (8am) but I got a ton of work done on the lab. unpacked my two biggest boxes of hand tools, one of which had been left packed since the move. I seriously cannot wait to get the chests of drawers, it's going to make such a difference to the usability of the space.

I'm slightly tempted to do that really 90s thing of building a pull-out keyboard tray under the desk, so I don't end up burying it under a mountain of hardware.

@gsuberland my knees have suffered each and every time I've tested this setup out, even with a slouchy-low-set rollychair.
no ideal single setup method for me yet, so I keep having to maintain* a clear patch of deskspace for a keyboad, which seems a waste of a flat surface.

*for a given value of 'maintain' and 'clear' - can recommend shared keyboard/mouse software like Synergy too

@evilstevie I remember that pain from my teenage years. luckily the bench is a little higher than I usually go for, because it had to clear a radiator, so I might be able to get away without hitting my knees constantly.

@gsuberland my current home-office setup is a desk top between stacked storage boxes, so I've elevated it far enough to need to add a longer leaded mains block :D
