I built this tool a year ago but I feel like Mastodon folks would like it
The "Weird Old Book Finder"
Type in a search query, and it'll find one randomly-chosen public-domain book that matches the query -- and present it for immediate reading: https://weird-old-book-finder.glitch.me
Why only one book? To prevent the paradox of choice! Just *start readin'*
Can't promise every book will be weird, but most are

This was a search for "mastodon"
@mattround tomorrow, on the south-side
With my usual impeccable timing, I’ve chosen the day after the Christmas rush to set up a blog collating nice stuff that I find in museum and gallery shops.

@35millimetre if you keep a database of them would it use PokeMongoDB?
Mastodon isn't perfect.
But the fact a social network exists that is completely free to use
has no venture capital investors
has no shareholders to answer to
has no growth targets
with a web interface with zero tracking cookies
and mobile apps with zero trackers at all
with ten thousand server administrators who donate their time for user safety
is - in my opinion - mindbogglingly cool, given the state of the world we live in. Not everything has to be shit. People make things better.

It can be hard to celebrate Christmas (or any midwinter holiday) when your enemies are bombarding you with hate. That is why we must keep in mind that this is the season for celebrating the coming light in the middle of the dark night. Take good care of yourself!
Baristicuffs trilogy complete!
Coffee / Tea / Hot Chocolate
Tea not on the website as a print yet as I’m surrounded by boxes. https://jaunty.art
Golem the snow-child
Was a simple happy soul
With shambolic legs and some mistletoe
And each eye a lifeless hole
Golem the snow-child
Was a fairy tale we hear
Made of eldritch snow and a yeti's toe
And the childrens' deepest fear
New 3d model dropped, an Ever Ready 532 to AAA adapter for dodgy old Polaroid cameras. This is for my next #ShittyCameraChallenge effort.
@foone PS/2 ? 5-pin DIN ?
I feel they are leaving too many valid options on the table here
The baller move this guy made is he submitted a Subject Access Request under GDPR… for himself.
You can do this and request all emails, IMs and Copilot meeting summaries that mention you, from any company - send it to the listed privacy contact for the org directly, they’re legally required to fulfil.
