@techsinger haha fair enough. offer of help stands, with fair warning of a bit of a brummie accent...
side query - have you tested that you can pass through whatever the required connectivity is from the VM to the hearing aids?
@techsinger Phonak Target looks like a hearing-aid adjustment thing. How the heck did they manage to make *that* into an accessibility problem? :'(
Makes more sense on the graphs and pointers bit now.
This is a weird request, but I figure the worst I can get for it is silence. I'm totally #blind and have very bad hearing. To set up a device through its inaccessible software, I'm in need of a sighted person for about an hour and a half to two hours who can access a computer remotely, speaks and reads English, and can describe images and graphs. The person needs to be quite patient with follow-up questions, needs to be willing to repeat if needed, as well as be able to click on items and describe what happens on the screen. The person needs to be fairly detail oriented because some of the images appear to have arrows and other ways to expand them, according to the manual. Though I'm happy to be reasonable, I have no clue how much to offer as payment, this is my first request of this kind. I'm posting it because I know we have some blind people here who may be able to point me towards someone who has done this before and may be willing to do it for such a short period. Boosts welcome, indeed, they're appreciated. #hearingimpaired #software #A11Y #accessibility #remote
@techsinger not done this before for sight-impaired users, but can give it a go. timezone - UK.
@stavvers and no piss on my server as it's me that would have to mop it up and hope it didn't get into the UPS too :/
A serene scene for #SilentSunday
Sunset at St Abbs nature reserve, on the east coast of the Scottish borders.
@stavvers not one of the latest refugees, but...
-spec should relate to ability to make it fairer, like a golfing handicap or excessive drinking in darts.
maybe the highest current trophy the player has forms the basis of their "ass-assist" or maybe an inverse of their current world ranking as diameter (inches for Americans, cm for those who understand them)?
-crisps depend on season, beverage, levels of hydration, sunshine and the amount of available time to consume. Bacon Frazzles, basically.
Right now if you search for "country in Africa that starts with the letter K":
- DuckDuckGo will link to an alphabetical list of countries in Africa which includes Kenya.
- Google, as the first hit, links to a ChatGPT transcript where it claims that there are none, and summarizes to say the same.
This is because ChatGPT at some point ingested this popular joke:
"There are no countries in Africa that start with K."
"What about Kenya?"
"Kenya suck deez nuts?"
Google Search is over.
Self portrait (shadow and wall, 2023)
This captures a moment just before I learnt something important.
I learnt that a 360 camera is NOT a good choice for capturing the glorious sight of a rainbow at sea. It's there, if you look really closely, but.... aye...
Nice planet sphere though, and an excellent foghorn.
@Richard_Littler I utterly refute this. Your own offspring have an ability to both delight and frustrate intensely. Sometimes mere seconds apart.
This cartoon hits hard.
It hits even harder when you notice the 2007 publication date in the lower right corner.
