It's funny, I can't really think of a specific moment that radicalized me against LLMs. More of a progressive and iterative process of learning about one harm after another, and of seeing more and more from the labor perspective.

Someone asked me if I'm still writing my own scripts, now that "AI can do all of that".

Yes, I am still writing my scripts.

I enjoy writing. No machine can stop that. No machine can take away the joy in creating something that didn't exist before.

I won't cede that to robots; I couldn't if I tried.

I got to spend the weekend at #emfcamp meeting old friends and making new ones

I love that it is the most accepting place in the country where anyone can express themselves without judgement meet likeminded nerds and come together for the talks, workshops and at the end of the night on the floor in null sector

See you all again in 2028 (or hopefully some in CCC next year)

The best days of the year emf is such a core part of my soul

Saying "the fuck", but not as a clipped version of "what the fuck", but as a statement about the general state of things. The fuck.

Sad trombone for the world's richest shithead. From the WSJ:

"Tesla shares fell 15% on Thursday—erasing $215 billion of market value—after the electric-vehicle maker missed earnings targets and had negative cash flow for the first time in two years. It was part of a wider stock selloff amid fears that big tech companies are overspending on artificial intelligence.
On an earnings call, Musk walked back earlier guidance on the rollout of Tesla’s Robotaxi ride-hailing service, Optimus humanoid robots and an electric semi truck that has been in development for years."

"Shares of SpaceX, which went public at $135 and traded above $225 in the days after its debut, are down nearly 50% from those highs. The stock broke below its initial-public-offering price within weeks and has lost more than $1 trillion in value from its peak."

If it has two wheels and a motor it is, by definition, a motor bike. It should be taxed, insured and carry a license plate - and the vehicle and rider should undergo testing to ensure that they are safe on the roads. Fuck all e-bikes, e-scooters and the arseholes who ride them.

After a mind-expanding first #emfcamp I have birthed into the Fediverse, confused and wondering how many social media channels is Too Many, but with a brain full of techno-FOMO, hoping this is the one where my tribe are at.

If you saw me in the field, I was the one with the carrots and / or the synthesizers.

Hello! Let's be friends!

The other radio show I did for BornHack Radio was a magazine show. If you want to get a flavour of the camp I hope you find it interesting.

On his return from #emfcamp @bencc presented me with an extremely useful token of his affection. I have applied it to enhance my sewing safety, as is appropriate.

I’m also planning maybe buying more from @gsuberland’s etsy shop. For safety reasons.

Tower of Hanoi but make it an endurance art piece! Level 14, 16383 moves and no mistakes, 5hrs and 5mins... I believe this is the world record :)

#emf2026 was the perfect place to do it!
