Before 2015 I regularly bought 2-3 (often more) music albums - CDs or downloads - per month. Between 2016 and 2025 I paid Spotify a monthly fee instead. It's only in the last year that I've been buying the same amount of music on Bandcamp instead.
I enjoyed finding (lots of) new music through Spotify, and I enjoyed sharing playlists with colleagues and friends. But looking back on my local music collection, there's a big void where the last decade should be - and that doesn't feel good.
