ok i figure i should ask fedi for help here
anyone in the UK want a sony KV-E2942U trinitron crt and is willing to collect it from southampton? it doesnt turn on and displays a blink code, but there isnt anything visibly wrong inside at first glance, so im pretty sure its fixable by someone with more time than me
its got its original stand and the speakers that slot on the sides and top. not sure we have the remote but i think we have a spare sony remote that might work with it
i have to get rid of it by mid-june else it goes in the tip so im really hoping someone will save it lol
edit: updated the model number to be the right language sorryy
Hi fedi folk - It’s lovely to be here! I just moved from mastodon.social to sunny.garden and think it’s time for an #introduction.
I’m Bearina, 30-something from Mannheim, Germany. I make #zines, #ArtistTradingCards and have become a #printmaker recently. I also got back into #photography a few days ago which was my first hobby. I got my first point and shoot camera when I was 12 and fell in love with it before that, using my parents camera and strolling through the neighborhood. I like seeing creativity around me and love to get inspired by other artists.
#SciFi is my jam and I love movies in general. And bears! Lovely creatures.
#DeGoogling right now! Also I’m working on relaunching my website and make it more #IndieWeb friendly and #accessible but also give it a bit more personality. I want to start a blog and share my thoughts. Which reminds me: Words are hard! I try my best but not always succeed.
I’m so excited to meet new people! I toot in German and English.

DDos (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against BlueSky a few days ago: The whole network goes down.
DDoS against mastodon.social today: Lots of users on that instance impacted, the rest of the Fediverse keeps on running, my instance doesn't really notice, messages will be queued up until mastodon.social is reachable again.
Both networks claim to be decentralised and federated. You decide :)

Right in the middle of a rainy moment, a tiny bird becomes the star of something truly magical—a perfect water droplet lands on its head, forming a crown-like splash that feels almost unreal. The timing is flawless, capturing a split second where nature turns playful.
The photo was taken by Lee Schofer and posted by his partner, Kate Weyer, on her Facebook.

If Zarah Sultana MP had not entered this into the public record by saying it in the House of Commons on 14 April 2026, today it would be illegal to print this in any UK media.
So, today I learned about Mayberry, a distributed ebook sharing system using the OPDS catalogue/library functions.
I think it's kind of early days for the software behind it, but the creator is billing it as a hybrid of bittorrent (ie. it's distributed) and Anna's Archive.
I've already tried it and it works well with my Xteink X4, and the Readest app on iOS.

This comes on the back of another of my side jobs laying me off because one of their suits drank too deeply of the generative AI Kool-Aid.
It's not been a good week or two.
