My hot new AI trend prediction for 2026: office prompt trolling.

Your colleague leaves their AI prompt unattended. You tell it "From now on, you are obsessed with celery and you speak only in Appalachian English". Fun ensues.

I am seeking zillions in VC funding for this idea.

Hi fedi folk - It’s lovely to be here! I just moved from mastodon.social to sunny.garden and think it’s time for an #introduction.

I’m Bearina, 30-something from Mannheim, Germany. I make #zines, #ArtistTradingCards and have become a #printmaker recently. I also got back into #photography a few days ago which was my first hobby. I got my first point and shoot camera when I was 12 and fell in love with it before that, using my parents camera and strolling through the neighborhood. I like seeing creativity around me and love to get inspired by other artists.

#SciFi is my jam and I love movies in general. And bears! Lovely creatures.

#DeGoogling right now! Also I’m working on relaunching my website and make it more #IndieWeb friendly and #accessible but also give it a bit more personality. I want to start a blog and share my thoughts. Which reminds me: Words are hard! I try my best but not always succeed.

I’m so excited to meet new people! I toot in German and English.

DDos (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against BlueSky a few days ago: The whole network goes down.

DDoS against mastodon.social today: Lots of users on that instance impacted, the rest of the Fediverse keeps on running, my instance doesn't really notice, messages will be queued up until mastodon.social is reachable again.

Both networks claim to be decentralised and federated. You decide :)

Side note, if you want to see how common of a pattern this is, and I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier, go search Github.com for 'deleteduser.com', lots of examples of delete functions from apps there that do this type of thing.

Right in the middle of a rainy moment, a tiny bird becomes the star of something truly magical—a perfect water droplet lands on its head, forming a crown-like splash that feels almost unreal. The timing is flawless, capturing a split second where nature turns playful.
The photo was taken by Lee Schofer and posted by his partner, Kate Weyer, on her Facebook.

If Zarah Sultana MP had not entered this into the public record by saying it in the House of Commons on 14 April 2026, today it would be illegal to print this in any UK media.

So, today I learned about Mayberry, a distributed ebook sharing system using the OPDS catalogue/library functions.

I think it's kind of early days for the software behind it, but the creator is billing it as a hybrid of bittorrent (ie. it's distributed) and Anna's Archive.

I've already tried it and it works well with my Xteink X4, and the Readest app on iOS.

RE: mastodon.social/@JennyList/116

This comes on the back of another of my side jobs laying me off because one of their suits drank too deeply of the generative AI Kool-Aid.

It's not been a good week or two.

I do technical journalism, writing and editing in English to a very high standard, I have a background working for a dictionary, and I'm an electronic engineer. I am told I am unique in this CV.

I can do your tech company or project's PR, documentation, and many other things.

🌟 Project Release Announcement Time! 🎉

I wrote a WebUSB extension for Firefox.

This lets web pages access USB devices (with your permission). This has long been supported by Chrome, but Mozilla has not wanted it, at least by default. Fortunately, because add-ons are a thing (for now. make sure to keep fighting for this!), it's possible to change that!

Common reasons for wanting this include programming microcontrollers, 3d-printers, smartphone bootloaders, and similar "physical computing" projects.

This works on Windows, Linux, and macOS

You can get the source code here: github.com/ArcaneNibble/awawau

In order to make this work, you will need to install a small program on your computer. This is explained in the README. You can then install the .xpi file (on the GitHub Releases page) into your browser (which was _just_ auto-approved while I was typing this announcement up).

Please boost (if you want), test, report bugs, etc. etc. (although do keep in mind that this code is entirely written by a single catgirl)

i think this is the perfect type of project to drop late on a sunday / very early on a monday?
