The New York Times just discovered parallel computing.

I spent a good chunk of my weekend helping people running tiny, low risk, online services complete paperwork about the UK’s Online Safety Act, for zero discernible benefit.

So it is a bit galling that the main headline on the BBC this morning is about the government wanting to “slash red tape”.

I have spent one heck of a lot of time on the OSA, trying to help others with its burden, and it just seems so utterly unnecessary.

Those Facebook posts saying something like, "Only a genius will be able to see the hidden numbers" are a great way to round up gullible people in the same place, ripe and ready for scamming.

The US Department of State, acting on orders of very questionable legality, destroyed my new, already printed, waiting to be picked up passport for only one reason: it listed my sex as "X".

Please help replace my passport.

that hashtables thing is a good reminder that a whole bunch of research discoveries boil down to someone stumbling across a random paper and making a connection to something else they were thinking about recently and having the time to execute on it.

“A collaborative note taking, wiki and documentation that scales. Built with Django and React. Opensource alternative to Notion or Outline."

It’s even offline-first, using the CRDTs under the hood (Y.js).
