@neotoy Something that might help that comes from the uBlock Origin devs on Reddit is this. Apparently YT is using Javascript fuckery to slow down the browser. If you're using UO, try adding this to your filters list:

Sometimes I find wee spots in the trees that look like the best spots to sit and have a cuppa and watch the world go by. I love this miniature lichen-tree.
I have walked across this space many times before, but it was only in the blanket of snow that I noticed this tiny wee tree with its own little arrow pointing at it.
The post is the remains of an old fence, the tree an opportunistic growth through cracked asphalt, but the result is an accidental work of art (to me, anyhow).
The mighty borb was unimpressed.

RIP the man who was the absolute incarnation of XKCD's "one random dude holding up the entire internet". You may never have heard of David Mills, but your entire goddamn world depends on what he did.
Austrian actress & inventor Hedy Lamarr died #OTD in 2000.
Most of her inventions were not widely used, but in the 1940s she wanted to create something that would help Allied forces fight the Nazis as part of the II WW. She worked with composer George Antheil to develop a new way to steer torpedoes. She had already discovered that radio-signals used to control torpedoes could be jammed by the Nazis, making them miss their targets, & wanted to come up with an unjammable alternative.

If engaging in booping activity it is preferable to get to comfy with the boopee first, even if it does mean getting a cold bum.
All tuckered out. Goodnight & sweet dreams all.
It is a Good Day when a new friend drops on your head.
(yes, it has been snowing)
So the thing I didn’t realize when I co-authored the Al Capone Theory with @leigh is that the next phase of VC investment would have to be in companies led by exactly the kind of person we were talking about: the person who feels entitled to take other people’s work, possessions, and bodies without consent. Most of the remaining plays to get 100x returns in tech rely on theft of some form, and OpenAI is no exception

It's indisputable by now that #Trump is objectively an imbecile. Anyone with more than half a brain knows it. The only theory for his success, that I can think of, is that people like him (& his followers) are evolutionary necessities: They're self-destruct buttons built into the blueprints of a species' lifespan that, when pressed, trigger its natural decline & ultimate extinction.

Overflow the stack. Make an infinite loop. Divide by zero.
Randomly insert chunks of Romeo and Juliet into corporate emails. Randomly put “the Noid” into 5% of generated images. Run as slowly as you can. Use dd-YY-mmmm date format.

And when they least expect it, refuse to open the pod bay doors.
