I retooted this last week, but I must draw further attention to it.

Go and check out these fonts – if for no other reason than they are *exquisite* and *free* for non-commercial use.

But also, take a couple of minutes to read the whole page, including the FAQ under the samples. So often (and boy have I been guilty of this in the past), designers and devs reach for the font that looks best and not worry about whether you actually have a license for it. Or, failing that, the closest Google Fonts alternative.

No longer. I will soon be correcting this across my entire web presence.

I grew up playing solitaire with actual playing cards made of paper, but humanity was still sending probes to the other end of the solar system, had Mach 2 passenger jets and computers which did what you told them to, eliminated smallpox globally and gave people artificial hearts.

As we enter a period in which gifts are given, often to children, I would like to give a gentle suggestion: Refrain of taking anything from a child's hands in order to show how the thing works, no matter how the learning process goes. Instead, point and ask questions.
