Having a chat and very probably a nice cup of tea on Monday at Waterstones Piccadilly at 6pm. I'm a Lady Grey kind of a gal and @GabrielleKent likes more of a two-bagger, make-it-brick-coloured brew. Link for tickets here - waterstones.com/events/rhianna

Here’s a poem called ‘The Caveman’s Lament’, believed to have been written around 1.5 million years ago by one of our earliest ancestors, homo unrequitus.

It is considered to be the world’s oldest surviving love poem.

@eclectech shame (for once) it's not a solely-English council.
Emglish National Trees / ENT council ;)

I found a splendid tree for #ThickTrunkTuesday in my photo archive.

This is the Ardkinglas Silver Fir, designated as one of fifty great British Trees by the Tree Council according to the plaque that was by it.

Designated as AWESOME by me.

Drawn figures for scale (and to cover up some slightly quick 'n' dirty editing out of people as I failed to get a good photo of it alone).

Somebody just referred to capybaras as "guinea bigs" and I don't know what to do with this information.

The media is finally getting its shit together and writing accurate headlines about the former president. This is my favorite from today. esquire.com/news-politics/poli

Oh my goodness, I can't look at the news without exclaiming bad words.

Going to distract myself offline for a while, but I leave you with the Best Cow Ever as a distraction for you too.

Very crude commentary on Cameron's return

But really.

If you can avoid fucking the country this time too that would be splendid.

@SwiftOnSecurity
Very true. I’ve worked in several fields, and none of them work like people who are on the outside think. It's not even close. I was certainly surprised each time. It’s taken me decades to figure this out and internalize it.

Amazingly, almost everyone seems to think they’ve got everyone else's stuff figured out…just like I used to think. (and occasionally still do unfortunately)

Seek out experts. Trust them.

My philosophy: Treat support incidents as mysteries.
Your only goal is to solve the mystery, not fix the computer. Even if you find out the user is doing something wrong (wasn’t the case) well you solved the mystery.
Really I have rarely ever finished a call and resented it.

Always cool to see comments in the wild where I leave an impression

@Miriamm it wasn't a spiral, it was an unplanned emotional launch failure
