Tiny review of AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation: bass far stronger than old AirPods, noise cancellation good considering they’re not ‘sealed’, don’t like squeezing controls (allows more gestures but preferred tapping), very fiddly to get out of their case

@mattround if bass is your thing, try Anker. ANC isn't amazing (eg typing produces more noise echo than it removes) but walking around outdoors or driving is okay. sealed-test fit thing is actually quite useful once.
customised sound profiles are nothing but a gimmick, however.
also, very cheap vs apple/samsung offerings

@evilstevie Yeah there are definitely solid cheaper options, I don't get along with sealed ones though & Apple's integration does mean they'll usually pair with whatever device I'm using without faff

@mattround I know there are non-sealed ones but I have weird ears so that's my experience level :)

these are my first in-ear ANC headphones, usually get a decent level of passive via the rubbery bits
