I'm not supposed to talk about the ages of my toys any more, but one of my 2 current laptops is an Acer D250 netbook from <mumble mumble> years ago.
Still works fine as a remote terminal despite the low res screen.

@neotoy jeez, just realised the "new" laptop turns ten this year. i7-7500u with 32gb of ram has lasted well, despite a drop which broke part of the lid a year in.
apparently it won't run Win11, which is reassuring. should probably do a clean Ubuntu install this decade though

@evilstevie a pillowing battery inside mine cracked the front and back case before I replaced it, and I put in a new SSD, otherwise it's unchanged and still works for everything except streaming and gaming.

@neotoy *except* gaming? my netbook only just doesn't play Unreal Tourney at a usable speed ;)
yeah, batteries are a consumable at a certain point.
RIP removable batteries :'(
