The crash survivable memory unit in a black box flight recorder can have a capacity of 256gb.

I have developed a new backup strategy. And more eBay alerts.

@jonty from Delkins' spec:
"Flash storage in data recorders must also be able to withstand a 3,400G acceleration force for six and a half minutes and immersion in water at depths of 20,000 feet for 30 days."

what the actual f'k are you planning to do with your backups? orbit them?

'hmm, I need a copy of the prod database from tuesday. time to calculate the burn time needed to get it to land in the back yard I guess.'

@jonty on the other hand someone appears to have made a coffee table from one unit, so part backup, part geeky furniture - as long as you enjoy orange.
115v will need sorting, so some form of fibre interfacing would be a good plan. maybe a cheap PC and 10gig fibre interface to your actual network.
