It boggles my mind that some people still deliberately choose low-DPI displays with chunkier pixels, 'retina' screens are probably my no. 1 tech advance of the last couple of decades (yes, even ahead of smartphones)

@mattround I read faster on chonky pixels, but photos look better on many pixels. speccy prescription is huge though, so at anything other than straight-on I get noticable red/blue separation issues.
my sweet spot is still 1920x1080 or thereabouts on a 24" screen, 13-14" for laptop. 6-point text with font-smoothing disabled works for terminals.
if I have a lot of docs to read through, I have an old samsung first-gen lcd which is exactly A4 in size at 1024x768 and gives virtually no eyestrain.
