Amazon. Bezos. Money.
So, all this stuff about Bezos giving away the majority of his $124 billion wealth during his lifetime... do you think he's considered starting by paying his employees properly and helping them achieve a decent quality of life?
@eclectech I'm going to guess the "Bezos Charitable Foundation" will be set up, and employing both Bezos and his offspring for tax reasons.
not sure why I suspect this...
@evilstevie That sounds depressingly believable. At least his performative hey-I'm-not-as-bad-as-Musk actions might lead to some good for someone, but I do wish the concept of valuing employees and paying tax was higher on the list of things to do.
@eclectech makes me think of parents getting their kids booktokens.
granted, to me this was a bonus because hey more books, but for many of my classmates it was their parents dictating where they could spend money they were given
@evilstevie Yup. The idea that one person is a better judge of where money is needed than a democratically elected government is pretty shocking.
I mean, you look at our democratically elected government and want to cry at that point, but still better than one person by virtue of their wealth.
